In July I had the honor of winning the Sounders FC Posters by the People design competition for the August 1st home game against the Whitecaps.
The inspiration for this design comes largely from The ECS chants and song lyrics one hears while at a match. I wanted an overall tactile look to the poster which is why everything was drawn by hand. I chose to illustrate some of the lyrics which are contained within the shapes on the ball. In addition, I used a palette of blues and whites which pays homage to The Sounders as well as the Whitecaps.
